1. Drink lots of H2O- If you are not a big fan of plain water, try coconut water. It’s a huge trend in hollywood and it naturally keeps you hydrated.

2. Don’t stress yourself out- Stress has been proven in clinical studies to worsen the overall skin condition. So try simple breathing techniques, practice yoga or meditation.

3. Take off your makeup every night- Let your skin breathe. It only takes a few minutes, so do it!

4. Give your makeup brushes a bath- Makeup brushes can hold a lot of bacteria, and excess oil, which easily causes break out. It is very important to spot clean them everyday with a brush cleanser or use baby shampoo for a proper wash. Think of this as a basic hygiene.

5. Wash your pillow cases regularly- Pillow cases can collect bacteria and dirt, and it can easily transfer to your skin.

6. Clean your phone screen more often- The phone screen can get pretty gross. Even if bacteria may not be the direct cause to your break out, having a dirty phone won’t help either.

7. Get fit- Exercise regularly to retain your skin elasticity and prevent those unwanted wrinkles. What a better way to get a healthy body and clear mind!

8. Keep your hands away from your face- It is a pretty bad habit that can be avoid. Every time you press against a pimple, it causes inflammation and distress to the skin, and eventually permanent damage.

9. Get your beauty rest- You need to rest physically and mentally. A good night sleep can lift your mood, knock down stress, and make you more productive.

10. Scrub away- Dead skin cells can clogg pores on your face and cause congestion or blackheads. Exfoliate at least twice a week for a younger healthy skin.

My Skin Care Routine

IMG_3156I found this cleansing facial wipes @ Target earlier last year. It was pretty affordable, so I decided to give it a try. I immediately fell in love after the first used. It removes every trace of makeup including waterproof mascara without over drying or causing redness. My face actually feel clean and fresh after using one wipe.

IMG_3145This is my 5th tube and I use this product everyday as my face wash, but it is actually an exfoliating mask. I only used a dime size to wash my face, rinse off with cold water and pat dry. It helps to keep my oily face under control, decreases my acne significantly.

IMG_3132Blackheads on the nose or little bitty pimples on the forehead can be really annoying. But thank goodness, this product does a great job taking care of this problem. I use these strips once a week on my nose and the area between the brows. It provides a thorough cleansing for my pores, easy to use and doesn’t hurt to remove.

IMG_3147

I have been using Clinique Clarifying Lotion for years and have never been disappointed. It cleans the rest of the excess oil and dirt off my face, leaving it a clean slate without feeling dry and tight. This is one of the steps I can’t skip!!!!

IMG_3148This moisturizer is fabulous! It is lightweight and absorbed quickly, and feel amazing on the skin. I have tried the lotion version of this moisturizer and did not like it.

I experienced a really bad break out on my face and my back 2 years ago. I was on antibiotic for a few months but it did nothing. I finally went to see a dermatologic and she  prescribed Tretinoin Cream. It worked like magic! I saw the result within 2-3 weeks. My complexion is clearer, blemishes heal quicker, no irritation or peeling. For the first time in my life, my face is as smooth as a porcelain. This cream is pretty pricey but it last up to a year.

I am my own worst critic, and there’s a little voice inside my head that tells me that I would never look good unless I shred off the extra weight. But I’m learning to adjust and i’m determine to live and lead a healthy lifestyle, so I would like to share some tips and welcome you all to take this journey with me.

√ Spend less and save more.

I have been spoiled myself a little too much from the last year 😉 It’s time to start saving for the future. I’ll start by putting aside a bit each month so my piggy bank will be filled at the end of the year.

Accomplish my dreams, one step at a time.

I am a dreamer, not a realist. But dreams are goals with a deadline. Write everything down!! Your dreams will continue to just be a dream if you don’t put them in motion. So get moving!

New Year Glam

I can’t believe 2012 is already over. It was filled with so many unforgettable moments, trips, and memories. But I know 2013 will be as fabulous as I envision and hopefully prosperous, one thing that the new year has always taught is to expect the unexpected and give each day it’s own merit.

My friends and I didn’t plan anything for NYE, we’ve decided to just go with the flow 🙂 but the best nights are always the spontaneous ones. I am a sweatpants and t-shirt kind of gal. But since it was NYE, I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and switch things up.

Glamtini: Everyday Essentials

Hey gorgeous!!

When did you start wearing makeup? I didn’t know how to put on eyeliner until 3 years ago. Lame, I know! But I didn’t feel the need for wearing makeup. True beauty should come from within, but makeup can be used to enhance your natural beauty. A little bit goes a long way, of course. These are the products I used almost everyday, but when I am in a hurry, foundation and lipstick would do.

1. Shiseido Sunscreen SPF 55+ This is the best sun screen I’ve found. I can’t stress enough about how important it is to use sunscreen. It helps to reduce and prevent premature wrinkles, sun spots, and most importantly skin cancer. This sunscreen is great for sensitive, acne prone and oily skin. It goes on smoothly, non- greasy, blend in easily, light scent, and offers great coverage.

2. Bare Minerals Foundation SPF 15– This foundation is great. I normally apply a light coat to even out my skin tone, and use a flat brush to conceal any imperfections. No concealer needed.

3. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer- It instantly brightens up my under eye area. I also use this to highlighting the bridge of my nose and cupid’s bow.

4. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil- I absolutely love this powder. Not only it helps my face to stay matte during the day, but it also gives a smooth complexion and  a flawless finish.

5. Mac Blush (Pinch O’Peach) –  This is the only blush I have from Mac and it’s my absolute favorite. I really like the color and can’t wait to try out other Mac collections.

6. Nyx Auto Eyebrow Pencil (Brown)-  Some people would prefer eyebrow powder over pencil. It works just fine for me.

7. Nyx Slim Eye Pencil (Black)- I use this mostly on my water line.

8.Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara- A friend of mine recommended this mascara 2 years ago and I have been loving it ever since. I love the packaging as well as the formula. It doesn’t clump and does a wonderful job thicken each individual lashes.

9. Urban Decay Naked Palatte- This palatte is worth every penny. I don’t wear eyeshadow on daily basis but I like to use “virgin” in the corner of my eye and underneath the brow bone to brighten.

Terrible Tragedies!!!

http://abcnews.go.com/US/twenty-children-died-newtown-connecticut-school-shooting/story?id=17973836#.UMu0EKVMY20

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-attacks-22-kids-knife-china-school-article-1.1220230

What a crazy ungodly world we live in! This is what happens when people think of nothing but their own happiness, and what missing in their lives instead of the blessing they already have. My heart goes out to those innocent children and their families in Newton, Connecticut. My prayers and thoughts also go out to the 22 children were stabbed and killed outside of a primary school in China. This is heartbreaking. The shooters do not deserve to die so quickly. They should have lived and dealt with sorrow and anger of the people who have been victimized by their senseless violence.

Trim The Tree Before You Trim The List.

Oh my goodness gracious, it’s already December!!!!  Holiday shopping can very excited and expensive. Here are some tips on how to enjoy this holiday season without going broke.

Tip #1. Decide How It Should Be Done

  • Let your friends and family know how you want to handle holiday gift this year. (White elephant, Secret’s Santa, exchange name, children only, …)
  • Split the gifts with a group of friends.
  • Focus on 1 big gift rather than a bunch of little gifts.

Tip #2. Don’t Put Christmas On Your Credit Cards

  • Make a list and check it twice.
  • Don’t buy just because you feel guilty ( happens to me every time )
  • Give yourself a budget and actually stick to it.
  • Pay with cash. You might say that you will pay off the credit card after the holiday. But the next thing you know, you’re carrying the balance + interest + fees until Easter.

Tip #3. Don’t Be Afraid To Use Coupons

  • Sign up emails at your local stores so you don’t miss out on those special sales and events they might have for the holiday.
  • And if that’s not enough saving for you guys, i have more 🙂 Stores like VS, Express, Bath and Body Works have a feedback survey at the end of the receipt. It takes about 5 minutes to save an extra $10 or %15 off of your purchase.

Tip #4. It’s Not All About The Packaging

  • Get creative with wrapping presents and gift tags.
  • Reuse the ribbons and gift bags.

  Tip #5. Get Organized

  • Plan your holiday shopping early so you don’t end up paying top dollars for everything.
  • Allow enough time for the preparation and shipping. (I would hate to pay for express or overnight shipping)

Tip #6: No Money, No Problem

  • Bake cookies.
  • Lottery tickets (who knows, it might be theirs & yours lucky day 🙂
  • Potluck style @ home instead of going to expensive and crowded restaurant.

December is such a magical month to remind everyone to be thankful and grateful for all they have. So don’t spend most of your time looking for the perfect gift. Instead remind your family and friends how much they are appreciated and loved.

Happy Shopping!
